STAFF REPORT
The County of San Bernardino initiated a study on behalf of the new
City of Highland , to install a 4-way stop control at the intersection
of Sixth Street at Del Rosa Drive .
The north half of this intersection is within the City of San Bernar-
dino , the rest of the intersection is within the City of Highland . the
County traffic analysis included an accident hisotry and traffic volume
counts . There were nine ( 9 ) accidents , correctable by a stop sign
within the past twelve months and a sufficient traffic volume to
warrant a 4-way stop .
The County ' s Traffic Committee and the City ' s Traffic Safety Committee
recommended the installation of a 4-way stop control . City of Highland
Mayor and Common Council approved a resolution for a 4-way stop at
their February 23 , 1988 , meeting .
We believe that the 4-way stop will reduce the potential for right
angle accidents and recommend approval of the attached resolution .

RESOLUTION NO . 2482 ENTITLED IN PART "A RESOLUTION . . . DESIGNAT-
3 ING CERTAIN STREET INTERSECTIONS WHERE A STOP IS REQUIRED . . . " ;
AND AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF A 4-WAY STOP AT SIXTH
4 STREET AND ITS INTERSECTION WITH DEL ROSA DRIVE .
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS :

SECTION 1 . Resolution No . 2482 , which designates
certain street intersections where a stop is required , Section

One , Subsections ( 4 . 1 ) ( 19 . 35 ) are amended to read :

(4 . 1 ) for the purpose of stopping traffic entering

Sixth Street at its intersection with the following streets :

Meridian Avenue
12 Pico Avenue
Garner Avenue
13 Mt . View Avenue
Del Rosa Drive - traffic approaching from
14 North only
15 ( 19 . 35 ) For the purpose of stopping traffic entering
16 Del Rosa Drive at its intersection with . the following streets :

Sixth Street - traffic approaching from the East

19 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
