Synopsis of Previous Council action:
11-08-84 -- Resolution No . 84-447 adopted authorizing execution of
Program Supplement No . 38 , to obligate $61 ,200 of
Federal -Aid High Hazard Elimination ( HES ) Safety Funds .
Recommended motion:
That a finding be made that the modification of
traffic signals on " I " Street , at Rialto Avenue
and Second Street , and at Del Rosa Avenue and Date
Street , is needed for health and safety reasons .

STAFF REPORT
The modification of traffic signals on " I " Street , at
Rialto Avenue and Second Street , has been approved for funding
under the Federal -Aid High Hazard Elimination (HES ) Program .
Two new poles , with mast arms , will be installed at
each of these 3 intersections . Installation of additional sig-
nal indications is expected to reduce the number of accidents
recorded at these intersections .
We recommend that a finding be made that the modifica -
tion of these 3 signals is needed for health and safety reasons .
