STAFF REPORT
Storm waters gather in a low spot along the west side of
Stoddard Avenue , south of Athol Street . The resulting pond denies
access at times to the abutting business and creates a real
nuisance when it turns stagnant . In addition , the ponded water
causes deterioration of the street pavement , cross gutter , and
curb and gutter .
Plans have been prepared by the Engineering Division for
the installation of curb and gutter , fill - in paving and drainage
facilities on Stoddard Avenue , from Valley Street to Athol Street .
Construction of about 100 feet of curb and gutter , catch basin ,
and connecting pipe to the existing 36- inch storm drain , will pro-
vide a positive drainage system and eliminate these problems . The
estimated cost for this work is $15 ,000 .
We recommend that the transfer of $15 ,000 , to finance the
cost of these drainage improvements be approved .
