Synopsis of Previous Council action:
June , 1986 --- Allocation of $25 ,000 for resurfacing and restriping
parking lot for Animal Shelter approved in 1986/87
Budget .
04-20-87 --- Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise
for bids .
08-03-87 --- Resolution No . 87-268 adopted awarding a contract to
the low bidder .
08-03-87 --- Change Order No . One approved , deleting and adjusting
bid items at a reduction in the contract price to
$21 , 721 . 56 .
Recommended motion:
That the work performed by the Contractor , for the
construction of a parking lot at the Animal Shelter ,
in accordance with Plan No . 7218 , be approved and
accepted , and that final payment be authorized at the
expiration of the lien period .

STAFF REPORT
All work under this contract was satisfactorily completed
as of 12-11-87 . Contract Change Order No . One reduced the con-
tract price to $21 ,721 . 56 . The actual final contract price is
$25 , 126 . 56 due to an increase in quantities of aggregate base and
A . C . pavement over the estimated quantities in the bid documents .
A portion of Bloodbank Road , adjacent to the new parking
lot , was resurfaced since it had deteriorated and would not drain
properly .
We recommend that the work be approved and accepted , and
that final payment be authorized at the expiration of the lien
period .
