STAFF REPORT
F-88-06
The proposed purchase is for one hundred (100) each three (3) cubic yard refuse
containers, Category I and fifty (50) each four (4) cubic yard refuse containers
Category II , to be utilized in daily operations by the Public Services/Refuse
Department. At request of the department, appropriate specifications were
prepared, published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were publicly opened
and declared on February 10, 1988. The following is a summary of Bids received.

Nine (9) vendors for this equipment were solicited. Five (5) vendors responded.
One (1) no bid. All Bid requirements were met by all bidders.
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Director of Public Services
who concurs that the Bid of C & D Manufacturing Company meets specifications and
requirements. It is therefore recommended that the Bid be accepted for contract.
The equipment funding is in the 1987/88 budget (127-413-55773) $45,000.00.

RESOLUTION NO.
2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO C & D
MANUFACTURING COMPANY FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF THREE (3) CUBIC
-3 YARD AND FOUR (4) CUBIC YARD REFUSE CONTAINERS CONSISTING OF: CATEGORY I
100 EACH THREE (3) CUBIC YARD REFUSE CONTAINERS, AND' CATEGORY II - FIFTY
4 (50) EACH FOUR (4) CUBIC YARD REFUSE CONTAINERS TO BE UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC
SERVICES/REFUSE DEPARTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATION NO. F-88-06.
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
6 BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
7 SECTION 1. The C & D Manufacturing Company is the lowest responsible
8 bidder for the furnishing and delivery of three (3) cubic yard and four (4) i

cubic yard refuse containers in accordance with Specification No. F-88-06,
IO I consisting of 100 each of three (3) cubic yard containers at a total cost of

$29,044.00, and 50 each of four (4) cubic yard containers at a total cost of
12 $16,954.70, for the total amount of $45,998.70; pursuant to this
1;3 determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to
14 issue a purchase order for said three (3) cubic yard and four (4) cubic yard
15 refuse containers to said lowest responsible bidder; such award shall only
16 be effective upon the issuance of a purchase order by the Purchasing Agent;
17 and all other bids therefor are hereby rejected.
18 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted. by the
19 Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a
20 meeting thereof, held on the day of
