STAFF REPORT
On August 28, 1987, this office received a request for changing the name
Universal Street , West of Jasmine Street, to Universal Avenue.
On October 5, 1987, your Honorable Body authorized this office to proceed
with the name change. Each Department of the City, including the Fire
department, was notified of the proposed change by memo on October 12, 1987,
and they have all approved of the change.
The street name change was requested because of the alignment of Universal
Street, with Universal Avenue to the East. All affected property owners
and/or residents have been notified of the proposed change. Only the street
name will be changed and addresses will remain the same.

2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO CHANGING THE NAME OF
UNIVERSAL STREET, WEST OF JASMINE STREET, TO UNIVERSAL AVENUE, WITH AN
3 EFFECTIVE DATE OF APRIL 1, 1988.
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION ONE: That the name of Universal Street, West of Jasmine
6 Street, be, and the same is hereby changed to read Universal Avenue with an
7 effective date of Apr.ili- 1, 1988.
8 SECTION TWO: The City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino shall cause
9 a certified copy of this Resolution to be recorded in the office of the
10 County Recorder of the County of San Bernardino.
11 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted by the
12 Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a
13 meeting thereof held on the day of
