BURNETT ;. ;`D.-A D141fl. ;'subject: AUTHORIZE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL Dept: POLICE DEPARTMENT 3 FOR THE MOTORCYCLE TRAINING PROGRAM Date: JANUARY 27, 1988 44 /y Synopsis of Previous Council action: None Recommended motion: Adopt resolution ign ure Contact person: Colleen McCabe Phon 384-5696 Supporting data attached: yes Ward: N/A FUNDING REQUIREMENTS: Amount: Source: Finance: Council Notes: CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT The California Highway Patrol requires the receipt of a resolution adopted by the Mayor and Council authorizing the Chief of Police to enter into training agreements with respect to the use of California Highway Patrol Training Facilities. Said resolution must be on file prior to participation in any training program. An example of such use is the motorcycle training class to be held November 7-17, 1988 in Sacramento. Each police officer attending pays for instruction, room and meals which is reimbursable through P.O.S.T. It is the recommendation of this department that the attached resolution be adopted. Adoption of this resolution will allow our police personnel to attend training programs from time to time and will provide the required documentation for the California Highway Patrol accounting office. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING 3 GREEMENTS BETWEEN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF SAN ERNARDINO AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA , DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA 4 IGHWAY PATROL. 5 WHEREAS , the State of California , Department of California 6 Highway Patrol requires written training agreements from any 7 agency participating at the Department of California Highway 8 Patrol Academy; and 9 WHEREAS , the Police Department of the City of San 10 Bernardino desires from time to time to participate in certain 11 training programs sponsored and administered by the Department of 12 California Highway Patrol; and 13 WHEREAS , these agreements do not create a debt or financial 14 obligation on the party of the City of San Bernardino . 15 NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 16 1 . The Police Chief of the City of San Bernardino is 17 hereby authorized and directed to sign training agreements with 18 the Department of California Highway Patrol . 19 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly 20 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San 21 Bernardino at a meeting thereof , held on 22 the day of , 1988 , by the following 23 vote , to wit : 24 25 26 27 28 2-16-88 1 Reso - CH P;S .B.P .
