Synopsis of Previous Council action:
12/03/84 --- Resolution No. 84-503 was approved, creating Underground Utility
District No. 13, between Third Street and Fifth Street and between
Waterman Avenue and Interstate 215.
Recommended motion:
That the costs to be levied against the parcels of land as contained in the
report submitted by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, relative to a
portion of Underground Utility District No. 13, are correctly set forth and do
hereby approve said report and costs,
- and -
That 10:00 a.m.,Monday, March 21, 1988 is set as the hour and date to hear
protests relative to the costs of undergounding of utilities for a portion of
Undergound Utility District No.13.

STAFF REPORT
On December 3, 1984, Resolution No. 84-503 was approved, creating Underground
Utility District No. 13 , located between Third and Fifth Streets, and between
Waterman Avenue and Interstate 215 and fully described in that Resolution.
Pursuant to Chapter 13.36 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code, all property
owners were notified that said district has been created and were further
notified that all improvements pertaining to the undergrounding of all overhead
utilities must be constructed, at the property owners expense, by no later than
December 31, 1986, and extended to February 16, 1987. That notice also stated
that if said improvements were not in place by said date, that the City Engineer
would construct, or cause to be constructed, said improvements and that all costs
and expense thereof will be assessed against the property benefited and become a
lien upon said property.
Due to the time constraints of Southern California Edision Company for the
removal of the poles, the construction of the underground facilities has been
completed in only a portion of the district.
Attached is the Engineer's Report setting forth the fact that the required
underground facilities have been provided and the cost thereof, together with a
list of properties against which said cost is to be assessed.
Upon your approval, all property owners shown on said Exhibit, will be notified
of the date set forth for their protests, if any, to be heard.

RELATIVE TO A PORTION OF UNDERGOUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO.13
Enclosed is a list of parcels upon which the required underground facilities have
been constructed, or caused to be constructed, by the City Engineer, said
improvements not having been constructed by the property owners by the prescribed
time, and the relative costs of said construction.
