By Resolution, rental fees for this use would be in excess of $500. Junior University has been cinducting youth theatre at FDR Bowl for nearly two decades. Attendance exceeds 20,000 each summer. Junior University has acquired a $1 million liability policy. They have requested that the premium costs for this policy be accepted in lieu of the rental costs due to the high cost for the insurance. Tr surer art Board President CANARY: FILE February 22, 1988 John Kramer San Bernardino City Parks and Recreation Department 300 N. "D" Street San Bernardino, CA 92418 Dear Mr. Kramer: Our group , San Bernardino Junior University, Inc . , has been performing in San Bernardino for 26 years, the last 24 years in Roosevelt Bowl in Perris Hill Park . The viewers have grown in numbers from a hundred or so to nearly twenty thousand during the two-week run of our annual production . We are a non-profit organization . Our income comes from ticket sales , advertisement in our program, and from the sale of soft drinks and snacks during intermission throughout the run of the show. . . this year July 17 through July 30, 1988. Since Junior University is , and probably will continue to be, the Bowl ' s largest user throughout the year, we are requesting that the City accept the Junior University ' s payment of the insurance premium in lieu of the rental fees for the use of Roosevelt Bowl . Junior University is providing a $1 , 000, 000 comprehensive liabil- ity policy that covers the City . The premium on this policy is very costly and the addition of rental costs would make financial arrangements extremely difficult . Your consideration in this matter is greatly appreciated. Sincerely , HARRY E. NDAHL Corporate Treasurer, President , Board of Directors San Bernardino Junior University, Inc .
