Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
09/14/1998 - Mayor Valles was designated as the City of San Bernardino's voting
representative and Council Member Anderson was designated as the alternate
voting delegate for the 1998 League of California Cities conference held in
Long Beach.
09/07/1999 - Mayor Valles was designated as the City of San Bernardino's voting
representative and Council Member McCammack was designated as the
alternate voting delegate for the 1999 League of California Cities conference
held in Long Beach.
Recommended Motion:
That Council Member Anderson be designated as the City of San Bernardino's voting
representative for the League of California Cities Annual Conference to be held September 7-9,
2000 in Anaheim, California; and that Council Member McCammack be designated as the
alternate voting representative.

SUBJECT: Designation of Voting Delegate for League of California Cities Annual
Conference September 7-9, 2000, Anaheim, California
The League of California Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for Thursday, September 7
through Saturday, September 9, 2000, in Anaheim, California. This year's Conference is taking
place one month earlier than prior years. One very important aspect of the Annual Conference is
the General Business Meeting when the membership takes action on conference resolutions.
Annual conference resolutions guide cities and the League in efforts to improve the quality,
responsiveness and vitality of local government in California.
To expedite the conduct of business at the above-referenced policy-making meeting, the League
has requested that each City designate a voting representative and an alternate who will be
present at the Annual Business Meeting on Saturday, September 9, 2000 at 9:15 a.m., at the
Anaheim Convention Center.
The Mayor plans to attend the League Conference; however, she will not be able to attend the
Annual Business Meeting on September 9 since it conflicts with the scheduled Citywide Clean
Up Day. Since both Council Members Anderson and McCammack are scheduled to attend the
conference, the Council may wish to designate them as voting delegate and alternate voting
delegate, respectively.
I
