the official minutes are approved. In order to provide further
clarification, the language in the official minutes may differ.
CALL TO ORDER:

CONTINUED FROM JULY 24, 2000
1. Discuss and take possible action relative to the draft City Charter.
Failed
MOTION: That the appointed City Attorney proposed in Section
600 (The City Attorney) be removed from the Draft
Charter dated 7/24/00, and that an elected City
Attorney be reestablished as is current practice.
Action
MOTION: That the draft City Charter be approved in concept;
and that the City Attorney and City Clerk prepare the
documents required to place the proposed Charter on
the ballot, including any legal issues that need to be
addressed, and that said document be brought back
before the Mayor and Common Council at the next
scheduled meeting.

MOTION: That the joint adjourned regular meeting be adjourned
to 5 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2000, in the Council
Chambers of City Hall, 300 North "D" Street, San
Bernardino, California.
