Background:
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking Mayor and
Common Council approval to solicit Request for Proposals for the purchase of an
industrial diesel engine driven portable generator. The generator will be located at the
Ruben Campos Community Center located at Nunez Park. This location serves meals
to the homeless community on a recurring basis. In the case of power failure this
generator would allow for the continuance of this service. In addition, the generator will
provide a backup power source for the Ruben Campos Community Center.
Expenditures for the proposed project will have no significant financial impact on the
General Fund.
