Proiect Summary
My name is Alicia Guerrero and I am a junior seeking my Bachelors of Arts in Social
Work from California State University San Bernardino. Over the past ten weeks I have been
working on a research assignment which entailed identifying a social problem and proposing a
solution for this problem. I chose to conduct my research on the difficulties that foster children
face when having to transfer their school records from school to school.
To being, I conducted both internet and in-person research to identify the population that
is affected by this problem. I then proceeded to contact an array of state and city wide
departments such as The Department of Education, The Department of Child Services, San
Bernardino City Unified School District and different schools. Collecting information from all
these different departments was very challenging,yet with the information I was able to collect I
came to understand that this is a major social issue. The next step in my project was to contact
agencies,legislatures, senators and public action committees explaining to them what I had
found and propose my solution to help solve this social problem.
