MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Chamber of Commerce is to serve as the primary advocate for the business
community by:
• Promoting economic development that strengthens and expands the business income
potential in the trade area and is of widespread benefit to the community;
• Create a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of business people
and a concern for their problems;
• Educating the business community about political issues and serving as a liaison for the
business sector on legislative matters;
• Facilitating business involvement in civic, cultural, educational, and social programs
which are designated to increase the functional an aesthetic values of the community.
CHAMBER GOALS FOR 2008
• Build the membership of the Chamber by 100 1 iew members by the end of the year.
• Build partnerships with the Mayor and City Council to revitalize the business community
and create a business friendly environment.
• Work with the City and the County of San Bernardino to support the economic
development goals of the community.
• Create a retention team to encourage active businesses from relocating outside the City
of San Bernardino.
• Participate in developing the workforce to serve our business community and economy
• Review and revitalize the Chamber bylaws and policies to help it serve our business
community effectively.
