In December 2012, Isabel Reyes started working in the City Attorney's Office p
through Manpower. In September of 2013, she became an employee of SBETA, but w
was assigned to the City Attorney's Office; SBETA funded her position within the
City Attorney's Office through a grant. Her salary was set at $17.00 per hour. In
December 2014, SBETA notified this Office that the grant would be terminated.

Due to Ms. Reyes' experience in this Office, the fact her current salary in this office a
is $17.00 per hour, and the maximum step (Step 21) of this position is $16.14 per
hour, it is hereby requested that she be appointed into the position at Step 21.

Justification/Reason for Request
On December 23, 2014, SBETA advised that the grant which funded the Receptionist
position within the City Attorney's Office would be terminated. At that time, SBETA

agreed to continue funding this position until March 1, 2015, to provide this office with
the time to either establish a new position, or to have an existing position added to its
structure.
On January 15, 2015, the City Attorney's Office was advised indirectly that it was
SBETA's intention to terminate funding prior to the March 1, 2015, deadline, thus
increasing the urgency of adding this position to the City Attorney's Office structure.
