Motion: Adopt the Resolution. Synopsis of Previous Council Action: On February 2, 2015, the Mayor and Common Council continued this item to the next meeting. On January 15, 2015, the Personnel Committee Chairman recommended that this item be forwarded to Mayor and Common Council for adoption. On February 27, 2014, the Personnel Committee took no action on the item. It was recommended that the City Manager prepare a contract to fund support staff for the transition period. Background: Based on questions posed by members of the Common Council at its last meeting, staff has revised its background research to focus on: 1. Salary comparisons with the County of San Bernardino Chief of Staff positions — they have five - and the City's department director positions; 2. Descriptions of other Chief of Staff employees with the County of San Bernardino highlighting their background and experience. Based on the salary survey, salary range 4584, $98,052.00 to $119,184.00, is being recommended for the Mayor's Chief of Staff (U) position.
