STAFF REPORT
SUBJECT
A resolution authorizing the execution of an Annual Purchase Order,with two single year renewal
options,to Beaumont Yamaha/Kawasaki for motorcycle parts and supplies.
BACKGROUND
The Fleet Division maintains fourteen (14) pursuit police motorcycles. Notices inviting bids for FY
2000/2001 annual purchase of motorcycle service and materials , Bid No. F-01-18,were sent to two
vendors,the San Bernardino Chamber of Commerce, and advertised in The Sun newspaper and on
the City's Web page. Due to the variety of parts which may be purchased to repair the motorcycles,
a representative sample parts list was developed. One (1) bid was received from Beaumont
Yamaha/ Kawasaki, who was also the awarded bidder for the FY1999/2000 annual purchase order.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for this purchase order are contained in the Public Services Department,Fleet Division Fiscal
Year 2000/2001 budget, Materials and Supplies account for the amount of$36,000.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council adopt the resolution authorizing the
Purchasing Manager to issue an Annual Purchase Order,with two single year renewal options,to
Beaumont Yamaha/Kawasaki for an amount "not to exceed" $36,000 for parts and supplies in
support of the City's Police Motorcycle Fleet.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
6 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
7 SECTION 1. That Beaumont Yamaha/Kawasaki provides motorcycle parts and supplies
8 utilized to support the City of San Bernardino Police Motorcycle Fleet. Pursuant to this
9
determination,the Purchasing Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue an Annual
10
11 Purchase Order,with two single year renewal options,to Beaumont Yamaha/Kawasaki in an
12 amount not to exceed $36,000 as a result of Bid No.F-01-18. This Annual Purchase Order and
13 future year renewal options shall be contingent upon funds being approved in the City's Budget for
14 this service.
15 SECTION 2. The authorization to execute the above referenced is rescinded if it is no
16 issued within sixty(60) days of the passage of this resolution.
