STAFF REPORT
This office received a request from the San Bernardino City Municipal Water
Department to Quitclaim a certain waterline easement, located across a parcel of
land located on the North side of Industrial Parkway. The property is presently
owned by the Redevelopment Agency and is undergoing redevelopment.
The easement was acquired by the Water Department when it acquired certain lands
and easements from San Bernardino Water Utilities Corporation. The Water
Department has determined that the easement is not presently used and has no
future need for this easement.
Since the existence of this easement conflicts with a proposed development of
this parcel, staff recommends that the attached resolution directing the
execution of a Quitclaim Deed be adopted.
URGENCY CLAUSE: The property is being sold by the Redevelopment Agency to a
developer and is currently in escrow. This Quitclaim Deed is needed for the
timely closure of escrow.
