Background:
The City of San Bernardino had two proposed Charter amendments on the November
4, 2014 Statewide General Election ballot: Measure R and Measure Q.
Measure R passed with 54.99% of the vote. Measure Q lost, with 44.89% of the vote.
The certified results are available online at https://www.sbcountyelections.com/ or can
be seen in the back-up documents attached.
The total number of registered voters in the city at the time of the election was 78,386.
Citywide turnout for the two measures was just about 25 percent.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO RECITING THE FACTS OF THE STATEWIDE GENERAL
3 ELECTION HELD ON THE 4th DAY OF NOVEMBER 2014,DECLARING THE
4 RESULTS THEREOF, AND SETTING FORTH SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE

WHEREAS, a Statewide General Election was held and conducted in the City of San
6 Bernardino on the 4th day of November, 2014; and >

WHEREAS, a notice of said election was duly and regularly given in the time, form and
8 manner as provided by law; voting precincts were properly established; election officers were
9 appointed and in all respects said election was held and returns made and declared in the time,
form,manner as required by the provisions of the Charter of the City of San Bernardino and the 0
lo Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of public elections in the City of San
Bernardino; and W

12 WHEREAS,the Registrar of Voters of the County of San Bernardino canvassed the .
returns of said election and has certified the results of this election and said results are received,
13 attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A";

14 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
15 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: M

16 SECTION 1. That there were 182 precincts established for the purpose of holding said election.

SECTION 2. That the total of all votes cast, out of 78, 386 voters registered in the City of San y
18 Bernardino, in said election was 19,793 for Measure Q, and 19,402 for Measure R, for a turnout
of about 25%. 0
