1 ORDINANCE NO.
2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTIONS
2.56.040 AND 2.56.070 TO CHANGE THE DEADLINE FOR FILING NOMINATION
3 PAPERS FOR THE 1993 ELECTION ONLY.
4 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

6 SECTION 1. Section 2. 56.040 of the San Bernardino Municipal
7 Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
8 "Nomination papers shall be issued and
9 verification deputies appointed to obtain
10 signatures to the nomination papers of any
11 candidate at any time not earlier than the
12 eighty-ninth day, nor later than twelve
13 noon on the sixty-eighth day, before the
14 municipal election. Provided, however,
15 that for the 1993 election only, such
16 period shall be not earlier than the
17 ninety-first day nor later than twelve noon
18 on the seventieth day before the municipal
19 election. "
20 SECTION 2. Section 2.56.070 of the San Bernardino Municipal
21 Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
22 "All nomination papers shall be filed with
23 the City Clerk not later than twelve noon
24 on the sixty-eighth day before the
25 municipal election. Provided, however,
26 that for the 1993 election only, all
27 nomination papers shall be filed with the
28 City Clerk not later than twelve noon on

1 the seventieth day before the municipal
2 election. "
3 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance was duly
4 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
5 Bernardino at a meeting thereof, held on the
6 day of 1992, by the following vote, to wit:
