Synopsis of Previous Council action:
On November 2, 1992, the Mayor and Common Council approved salary increases for
Headstart/Preschool positions, retroactive to September 1, 1992.
Recommended motion:

Annie Ramos, Director of Parks, Recreation & Community Services, has requested salary
increases for the following positions:

These pay rates are in conformance with, and recommended by, the Preschool Services
Department. Because the school year is from September 1, 1993 to August 31, 1994, it is
requested that these pay rates be effective retroactive to September 1, 1993.
There will be no impact to the General Fund, because these positions are federally funded.
Attached is a copy of the 1993-94 Budget.

SUBJECT: HEADSTART/PRESCHOOL POSITIONS/PAY RATE CHANGE

I request that the pay rate of the Headstart Preschool position be
modified to conform to the 1993-94 Headstart/Preschool Budget.
These pay rates are in conformance with and recommended by the
Preschool Services Department. Due to the schedule of the Head
Start Program at Delmann Heights Community Center, it is desirable
to have the resolution for staff salaries modified at the November
1, 1993 Council Meeting. Because the school year is from September
1, 1993 to August 31, 1994 , and the budget for this program is
approved for the same period, it is requested that these pay rates
be effective retroactively to September 1, 1993 .
The two-tiered pay scale is proposed to provide a differential
between current employees and new hires which are funded at a
different level for a new class.
Attached you will find the 1993-94 Budget.
