STAFF REPORT
The U.S. Economic Development Agency has extended the
Inland Valley Development Agency (IVDA) and City of San
Bernardino an invitation to submit an application for a grant to
finance street and water system improvements on Norton A.F.B.
Both agencies will be co-applicants .
The application will be for a grant in the amount of
$6 , 825,000 . This grant will fiannce 75% of the cost for
improving Tippecanoe Avenue, Del Rosa Avenue and "C" Street, and
installing a 20-inch water main from Tippecanoe Avenue to the
northeasterly portion of the base. The 25% local matching re-
quirement will be financed by IVDA.
EDA requires evidence that the person signing the appli-
cation is authorized to act in this capacity. The proposed
resolution will provide the necessary evidence.
We recommend that the Mayor be authorized to sign the
application on behalf of the City.

MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE APPLICATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
3 AGENCY FOR A GRANT TO FINANCE STREET AND WATER SYSTEM
IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN NORTON A.F.B.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
5 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1 . The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is
7 hereby authorized and directed to execute the application, and
8 all required appurtenant documents , to the Economic Development
9 Agency as co-applicant, for a grant to finance 75% of the cost
10 for street and water system improvements within Norton A.F.B.
11 SECTION 2 . The Inland Valley Development Agency is hereby
12 designated as the Lead Agency relative to preparation and
13 submittal of the joint application to the Economic Development
14 Agency.
