Synopsis of Previous Council action:
None.
Recommended motion:
1 . That the appropriation of $172 ,635 from the 1992-93 Barrier Rail
Program, to finance 88 .53% of the cost for replacing the obsolete
bridge rail on the Rialto Avenue Grade Separation over the Santa
Fe Railway, be approved; under Account No. 242-362-57401 .
2 . That the transfer of $23 , 365 from Account No. 129-000-30405,
"Unappropriated Reserve - 1/2C Sales Tax Fund, " to Account No.
242-362-57401 , "Barrier Rail - Rialto Avenue Separation, " be
approved.

STAFF REPORT
Federal-Aid Funds are available through the 1992-93 HBRR
Program for replacement of obsolete barrier rails on bridges.
These funds can be used to finance 88 . 53% of the total cost of a
project.
Caltrans has determined that the Rialto Avenue Grade
Separation, over the Santa Fe Railway tracks (east of
,Pennsylvania Avenue) has a sufficiently high priority rating to
receive funding.
The preliminary estimated total project cost is $196 , 000,
of which $172, 635 is eligible for Federal-Aid funds. It is
recommended that an appropriation of $172 , 635 be approved, under
Account No. 242-362-57401 , to reflect the anticipated new
revenue.
Also, it is recommended that $23 , 365 be transferred from
the unappropriated reserve for the 1/2G Sales Tax Fund, Account
No. 129-000-30405 , to Account No. 242-362-57401 , "Barrier Rail -
Rialto Avenue Separation, " in order to provide funds to finance
the 11 . 47% Local Agency' s share.
