Attached is a request from Mr. Henry Valles, Chairperson of the 5th
Annual Red Ribbon Committee, relative to presenting a brief
overview of this year's celebration as well as requesting a waiver
of City fees in connection with their parade scheduled for October
23, 1993.
The departmental costs for labor and equipment are as follows:
Police $697 (personnel)
Park & Recreation $749 (equipment)
Traffic Engin. $555 barricade/deposit (refundable)
$500 labor (96 barricades/signs)
Public Services - - $909 (equipment/personnel)
TOTAL $3,410

Honorable Mayor Tom Minor:
As you may know we are currently planning our 5th annual Red Ribbon
Parade. This drug-free celebration has unified residents of the
City as well as San Bernardino County. Therefore the success of
the parade must begin with support from the Citv of San Bernardino.
Once again the Red Ribbon Committee is requesting permission from
the City for the waiver of fees involved.
We would like the opportunity to present a brief overview to the
City Council, approximately 2-3 minutes, on the "Red Ribbon
Celebration" as soon as possible.
Your support in this endeavor will be greatly appreciated.

its Red Ribbon Parade. The parade will start at 10 : 00 am and
continue until approximately 2 pm. The assembly area for this
event is at the Feldheym Library on "E" St.
The Traffic Office is processing the event application and will
be forwarding the package to Risk Management when it is complete.
