Dear Sir,
During the past several months, a promotional effort by a large dairy in Hawaii has become
a major advertising medium within that State. Additionally, it became a game that included
tournament play by the children. This phenomenon has become known as "POG"s. More
simply put, POGS are milk bottle caps (like those used in old glass milk bottles) that are
used in lieu of business cards with varied graphic artwork depicting Presidents, States,
Cities, Police Departments, Football Players, Basketball Players, etc.
Young and old collect POGS with the artwork of "Wyland", the sea life painter, Honolulu
Police Department, etc. More recently, we have been licensed to market the Route 66 logos
at that upcoming event.
We would like to request that you and the City of San Bernardino give Hot Spots the
permission to market a "City of San Bernardino" POG incorporating the City's seal. The
City would receive 10% (ten percent) of gross of all "San Bernardino City" POG sales. The
manufacture and distribution costs would be borne by Hot Spots. The City would approve
the final artwork design.
A tastefully done "City POG" would serve to heighten the image of San Bernardino and
bring more awareness of the City throughout the country as one of the first on the Mainland
to participate in this advertising medium. If permission in a timely manner, we may be able
to produce "City POGS" in time for sales at the upcoming annual Route 66 Rendezvous.

letterhead) in the merchandising of "FOGS" (collectible milk bottle caps):

You will be assigned two booth locations at the 1993 Route 66 Rendezvous on September 17-
19 in order to promote and merchandize FOGS.
You have our permission to contact the corporate sponsors,San Bernardino city agencies and
other organizations involved in the 1993 Route 66 Rendezvous in order to discuss their
involvement in the 1993 Route 66 Rendezvous POG promotion.
We look forward to working with you and will provide any and all assistance as we are able.
