CITY OF SAN BERNA IDINO - REQUEST F R COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The Traffic Engineering Section received a request from
the City of Highland to install a stop sign, for east bound
traffic, on Buckeye Street at La Praix Street.
The recent construction of that Route 30 Freeway along
with local street re-configuration, has resulted in increased
traffic volumes on La Praix Street. This increase in traffic has
resulted in the need for stop signs on the side streets .
La Praix Street is designated as a through highway,
within the City of Highland. The east bound approach at the
intersection of La Praix Street and Buckeye Street is within our
jurisdiction, and is presently uncontrolled.
An investigation, conducted by the Traffic Engineering
staff, found that sufficient justification exists to warrant the
installation of a stop sign as requested.
We, therefore, recommend the installation of a stop sign
for the east bound approach on Buckeye Street to La Praix Street.

HIGHWAYS . . . ; " AND PROVIDING THAT LA PRAIX STREET IS A THROUGH
4 HIGHWAY AT ITS INTERSECTIO14 WITH BUCKEYE STREET.
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, AS FOLLOWS :
6 SECTION 1 : Resolution No. 655 , which designates certain
7 streets or portions thereof as through highways, Section 1 , is
8 amended by adding Subsection 9 . 1 to read:

"9 . 1 LA PRAIX STREET
10 At its intersection with Buckeye Street. "
