Recommended motion:
That the plans for installation of an intercepting sewer in
Orange Show Road, from Waterman Avenue to the Santa Ana River,
in accordance with Plan No. 8988 , be approved; and the
Director of Public Works/Cite Engineer be authorized to
advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for installation of an intercepting sewer in Orange
Show Road, from Waterman Avenue to the Santa Ana River, have been
prepared by the Engineering Division and the project is ready to
be advertised for bids. The project consists , in general , of
installing a 12--inch sewer main to provide service to this
general area.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 220 , 090
Engineering & Inspection W. O. #1514) 25, 000
Sub-Total $ 245 , 090
Contingencies (15%) ± 36 , 910
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 282,000
All costs incurred for this project will be charged to
the $500 , 000 allocated under Account No. 245--365-57734.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids .
Several property owners are experiencing difficulties
with their septic tanks. Installation of this sewer main will
afford these owners the option of connection to the City' s sewer
system, subject to the payment of prescribed fees.
