Recommended motion:
That the expenditure of $7 , 250 from Account No. 132-000-3405 ,
"Undesignated Reserve, " to finance one-half of the cost for an
approximate 473 feet extension of the sewer main in Hill Drive, to
serve the 5 lots west of Third Avenue, be approved.

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Tract No. 14448 is being developed on the northeast corner
of Hill Drive and Mountain Avenue. The existing portland cement
concrete paving on Hill Drive, adjacent to this tract, will be
removed by City forces, and new asphalt concrete paving installed
by the subdivider.
A sewer main will be installed in Hill Drive to serve this
subdivision. This main will be extended from the present sewer
system westerly to the new street, to be named Sierra Mesa Road.
There are 5 lots on the south side of Hill Drive, west of
Third Avenue, that are within the City limits. The owners of 4 of
these lots have requested that the sewer main in Hill Drive be
extended to provide sewer service to their properties. The period
of time between removal of the existing pavement, and installation
of the new pavement, would be an opportune time to install the
approximate 473 feet of sewer extension to serve these 5
properties .
The preliminary estimate of cost for installing 473 feet
of sewer main, and 5 laterals to the south edge of the new
pavement, is $14 , 500 . Owners of 4 of these properties have in-
dicated a willingness to pay one-half of the cost for this sewer
extension.
Funds to finance the City' s one-half share ($7 , 250) could
be provided from Account No. 132-000-3405 , "Undesignated Reserve, "
in the Sewer Maintenance Fund.
We recommend that the expenditure of $7 , 250 to finance
one-half of the cost of this sewer extension, be approved.
