STAFF REPORT
Bids for the installation of traffic signals at Northpark
Boulevard and Coyote Drive were opened at 2 : 00 p.m. , Tuesday, 4-
30-96 .
A total of 5 bids were received, ranging from $69 , 863 . 00
to $100 ,800 . 00 , for the Basic Bid. The low bid of $69 , 863 . 00 is
6 . 9% below the Engineer' s Estimate of $75 , 060 . 00 .
The Standard Agreement with San Bernardino State
University provides that the cost for the traffic signals will be
borne equally by the State and City. Also, all costs for modifi-
cation of the median will be borne by the State. An additive
alternate was, therefore, included in the Bid Schedule for the
modifications to the curbed median. The low bidder' s price for
the additive alternate is $56 , 993 . 50 .
Below is an estimate of the total estimated project cost,
based upon the actual low bid price.
