Synopsis of Previous Council action:
12-02-91 - Approved transfer of $100 , 000 from Account No. 250-670-
57871 , "Traffic Signals, South ' E ' St. & Fairway Drive, "
to Account No. 250-670-57878 , "Widen and interconnect
traffic signals , Tippecanoe Avenue, from Redlands Boule-
vard to Laurelwood Drive, " and authorized the Director
of Public Works/City Engineer to negotiate a Cooperative
Agreement with the City of Loma Linda.
10-19-92 Resolution 92-409 adopted approving Cooperative
Agreement with City of Loma Linda for the improvement of
Tippecanoe Avenue at I-10 Freeway.
07-19-93 - Negative Declaration adopted and finding of consistency
made.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for widening Tippecanoe Avenue and intercon-
necting traffic signals, between Redlands Boulevard and
Hospitality Lane, in accordance with Plan No. 8888 , be approved;
and the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized to
advertise for bids .

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Plans for widening Tippecanoe Avenue and interconnecting
traffic signals, between Redlands Boulevard and Hospitality Lane,
have been prepared and the project is ready to be advertised for
bids. The project consists, in general , of widening Tippecanoe
Avenue to provide the second left turn lane, and interconnecting
the traffic signals at Redlands Boulevard, Route I-10 Freeway
ramps, and Hospitality Lane.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost:
Construction Contract $ 359 ,500
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1501) 12 ,500
Sub-Total $ 372 , 000
Contingencies (15%) ± 55 , 800
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 427 , 800
All costs incurred for this project will be charged to
Account No. 250-370-5504-1501 , "Tippecanoe - Redlands Boulevard
to Hospitality Lane, " and reimbursed in the proportion of 880
Federal-Aid STP Funds and 12% for the Inland Valley Development
Agency.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
