widening of the south side of Mill Street, from -"J" Street to "I"
Street.

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Bids have been opened for the widening of Mill Street,
from "I" Street to "H" Street.
The south side of Mill Street, from "J" Street to "I"
Street, has been widened by two developments, except for about
190 feet in the middle of the block. It would be desireable to
complete the widening of the south side of this block, while we
have a contractor working in the area.
Our estimate of cost for widening this 190 feet is
$6 , 000 . This extra work would be authorized by a change order to
the contract for widening Mill Street, from "I" Street to "H"
Street.
Supplemental funding, in the amount of $6 , 000 will be
needed to finance the estimated cost of this extra work. We
recommend that the necessary supplemental funds be allocated from
the undesignated balance in the Gas Tax Fund (126) .
URGENCY CLAUSE:
The contract for widening Mill Street, from "I" Street to "H"
Street, is scheduled to be approved on 4-15-96 . Approval of the
extra work, widening the south side, between "J" Street and "I"
Street, needs to be approved at the same time to allow a Change
Order to be negotiated with the Contractor before work is
started.
