A total of two bids were received, ranging from $342 , 147 . 20 to $371 ,573 . 07 . The low bid of $342 , 147 . 20 is 78 . 3% over the Engineer' s Estimate of $191 , 900 . 00 . Below is the total estimated project cost, based upon the actual low bid price: Construction Contract $ 342 , 147 . 20 Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #1520) 10 , 000 . 00 Sub-Total $ 352 , 147 . 20 Contingencies (5%) ± 17 , 852 . 80 TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 370 , 000 . 00 Funding for the estimated cost of $370 , 000 . 00 is in Account No. 126-369-5504-1520 . All costs incurred for this project will be financed from the available balance allocated in the 1996/97 Gas Tax Budget under Account No. 126-369-5504---1520 , and the $500 , 000 allocated in the 1997/98 Gas Tax Budget, under Account No. 126-369-5504- 7097 . The Engineer' s Estimate apparently did not fully reflect the actual costs for removing and replacing failed sections, and filling cracks.
