Staff Report
SUBJECT:
Resolution dedicating a portion of City owned property located east of South "E" Street, south
of Chandler Place (Sewer Treatment Plant No. 2) for Water Department use.
BACKGROUND:
The City acquired various parcels of real property located east of South "E" Street and
south of the easterly extension of Chandler Place (previously known as Blood Bank Road) for
Sewer Treatment Plant No. 2. The parcels were acquired at various times between 1958 and
1967, but were never formally dedicated to the Water Department, which operates the treatment
plant.
The Water Department has recently requested that property used for the treatment plant
be formally dedicated to them. City property used by the Water Department throughout the City,
is typically vested in the City's name, since the Water Department is non-autonomous, but is
normally dedicated for Water Department use by resolution.
The Animal Shelter is also located on a portion of this parcel and will be excepted from
the dedication to the Water Department, along with ingress and egress rights, as shown on the
attached maps. The area reserved for the Animal Shelter includes an additional 40 foot strip
adjacent to the southerly boundary of the Animal Shelter facility, as recently requested by
Animal Control, for expansion of their facilities. The expanded area is to be used for staff
parking, parking of City vehicles, and for storage bins.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the attached resolution dedicating a portion of City property for Water
Department use be adopted.

5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
6 OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
7 SECTION 1. That a portion of City of San Bernardino owned real property, generally
8 located east of South"E" Street and south of the easterly extension of Chandler Place(previously
9 known as Blood Bank Road),more fully described in Exhibit"A", attached hereto and made a part

11 hereof, is hereby dedicated for use by the San Bernardino City Municipal Water Department for
12 wastewater treatment operations and appurtenant facilities.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION FOR DEDICATION OF SEWER TREATMENT
PLANT NO. 2 FOR WATER DEPARTMENT USE.
Those portions of Lots 13, 14, 23 and 24, Block 54 of the Rancho San Bernardino, as per plat
thereof recorded in Book 7 of Maps, page 2, records of the County Recorder of San Bernardino
County, State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the north line of said Lot 23, said point being 791.25 feet east of the east
line of South"E" Street, having a half width of 50 feet, said point also being a 2 inch Iron Pipe
tagged as L.S. 2380 as shown Parcel Map No. 5284, as per plat thereof recorded in Book 51 of
Parcel Maps, pages 3 and 4, records of said County;
Thence North 89° 44' 15"East, along said north line of Lot 23, to the northwest corner of said
Lot 24;
Thence North 89° 36' 13.5" East, along the north line of said Lot 24, a distance of 293.58 feet;
Thence South 00° 20' 14" West, a distance of 1164.07 feet to a tangent curve, concave
northwesterly, having a radius of 1000 feet;
