Recommended motion:
That the plans for replacing the bridge rails on the Rialto Avenue
Grade Separation over the BN/SF Railway, be approved; and the
Director of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized to advertise
for bids.

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQU19ST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
Plans for replacing the existing bridge rails for the Rialto
Avenue Grade Separation, over the BN/SF Railway, have been
completed, and the project is ready to be advertised for bids.
The project consists, in general , of removing the existing rails
and constructing Type 25 Concrete Barrier rails.
Below is an estimate of the total project cost.
Construction Contract $ 132 ,025
Engineering & Inspection (W.0. #1748) 17 , 800
Sub--Total $ 149 , 825
Contingencies (150) ± 22 , 175
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 172 , 000
All costs incurred for this project will be charged to the
$196 , 000 allocated under Account No. 242--362-5504-1748 . Federal-
Aid Funds, from the Barrier Rail Program have been provided to
finance 88 . 53% of the total project cost.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization granted
to advertise for bids.
