Award of Contract
Replacement of Sport/Security Lighting
at Kerwin Field
Bids for replacement of sport/security lighting, at Kerwin Field,
were opened at 2 : 00 p.m. , Tuesday, 11-04-97.
A total of 5 bids were received, ranging from $138 , 612 . 00 to
$161 ,000 . 00 . The low bid of $138 ,612. 00 is 3 . 8% over the Engi-
neer' s Estimate of $133 ,512. 00 .

Below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon the
actual low bid price:
Construction Contract $ 138 ,612 . 00
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. #5029) 7 , 000 . 00
Sub-Total $ 145 ,612 . 00
Contingencies (100) ± 14 ,388 . 00
TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $ 160 , 000 . 00
An amount of $125, 700. 00 has been allocated from the 1996/97 CDBG
Program, under Account No. 806-7003 , to finance the costs that
will be incurred for this project. Supplemental funds in the
amount of $34 ,300 . 00 will be needed to fully finance the total
estimated project cost.
Staff recommends that a contract be awarded to the low bidder.
