Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
10/06/97 --- The Real Property Section of the Public Works Department was authorized and directed
to proceed with the proposed street name change from Pioneer Street to Orange Show Road.

Recommended Motion:
1). That the Public Hearing relative to the street name change of Pioneer Street, east of Waterman
Avenue, to Orange Show Road be closed.
AND
2).Adopt the Resolution.

STAFF REPORT
The change in the name of Pioneer Street East of Waterman Avenue and West of the Santa Ana River, to Orange
Show Road was City initiated. The City has been in the process to extend Orange Show Road from Arrowhead
Avenue to Tippecanoe Avenue. A portion of the new street (Orange Show Road) will encompass the existing
Pioneer Street thus requiring a name change.
On 10/06/97, The Real property Section of the Public Works Department was authorized and directed to proceed
with the proposed street name change form Pioneer Street to Orange Show Road.
On 10/13/97, City Departments were notified of the proposed name change and given an opportunity to comment
on the proposal. No objections were received.
There are about 12 residences and 1 business on Pioneer Street that would be affected by this proposed street name
change. The property owners have been notified of the proposed change of name as a matter of course in these
proceedings, and they have been notified of their opportunity to appear at the Public Hearing
No objections were received from the property owners or occupants.
We recommend the change of Pioneer Street to Orange Show Road.
