Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda Betty Jean Long, San Bernardino, said people who have things to say about her should tell her to her face and said that the Police Department needs to get rid of the thieves in San Bernardino. Robert Porter, San Bernardino, shared some history of San Bernardino. Al Palazzo spoke about the vision he has for San Bernardino's future and told the Council he would provide them with an outline. He stated that the City needs to be reinvented and a renaissance needs to take place. 0 N Joe Arnett, San Bernardino, spoke about his problem with the lack of truth in San Bernardino politics and discussed the letter from CALFIRE that was sent to City officials that City officials claim they did not see. He stated that his four ideas for measuring accountability were: policies that replenish the reserve account and get the City through ; the bankruptcy process rapidly; policies that fix the City's infrastructure without raising a taxes; policies that build businesses and create jobs and become barriers to blight; and policies that provide civic protections to the residents that reduce crime and gangs. Maria Sanchez, Riverside, distributed to the Council two pages from the California Humane Handbook for 2013; said that some items have improved at the shelter, but there are still issues she is concerned with such as owner surrenders and dogs that are being killed after notices of rescue intent have been sent. Sol Figueredo, Corona, asked if temperament tests could be done on the dogs at the San N Bernardino Animal Shelter; and spoke about a rescuer who was waiting in the lobby to pick up a dog and the dog was being euthanized. Aaron Cox, San Bernardino, thanked the Mayor and Council Members for their service to the City; thanked former Councilman Kelley for his service to the City; and welcomed Council Member Mulvihill and City Attorney Saenz.
