Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda Betty ean Long, Bernardino said people who have thins to say about her should Y g> P p g Y tell her to her face and said that the Police Department needs to get rid of the thieves in San Bernardino. Robert Porter, San Bernardino, shared some history of San Bernardino. Al Palazzo spoke about the vision he has for San Bernardino's future and told the Council he would provide them with an outline. He stated that the City needs to be reinvented and a renaissance needs to take place. Joe Arnett, San Bernardino, spoke about his problem with the lack of truth in San Bernardino politics and discussed the letter from CALFIRE that was sent to City officials that City officials claim they did not see. He stated that his four ideas for measuring accountability were: policies that replenish the reserve account and get the City through the bankruptcy process rapidly; policies that fix the City's infrastructure without raising taxes; policies that build businesses and create jobs and become barriers to blight; and policies that provide civic protections to the residents that reduce crime and gangs. Jay Lindberg spoke about the NAFTA debate and how trade policy affected manufacturing and support jobs and a new policy called Trans Pacific Partnership; and recommended that the Council Members download and read a paper called "NAFTA at 20". Deanna Adams, San Bernardino, spoke in favor of Wendy McCammack as mayor, based on her background. Anthony Jones, San Bernardino, spoke about the Wildwood Park cleanup effort on January 11; the need to vote consciously; and his candidacy for Fourth Ward Council Member. Roxanne Williams, San Bernardino, founder of the Southpoint Neighborhood Watch, voiced her concerns about the recent copper wire theft in the third ward and asked for greater security measures. 9. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 5:42 p.m. The next joint regular meeting of the Mayor and Common Council and the Mayor and Common Council Acting as the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
