Synopsis of Previous Council action:
4/14/93 -- Ways and Means. Committee recommend approval of $3 ,500
in civic and promotional funding to help defray costs
connected with Miss Hispanic San Bernardino Pageant.
Recommended motion:
That the request of the Inland Empire Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
for $3 , 500 in Civic and Promotion funds to help defray expenses
connected with the conduct of the Miss Hispanic San Bernardino
Pageant to be held May 1, 1993, be approved and that the City
Administrator be authorized to execute an agreem nt outlining
the usage of the funds.

STAFF REPORT
The Inland Empire Hispanic Chamber of Commerce appeared before the
Ways and Means Committee on April 14, 1993 to request funding in
the amount of $3 ,500 to help defray expenses connected with
conducting the Miss Hispanic San Bernardino Pageant scheduled for
May 1, 1993 . The goal of the pageant is to reward the effort and
dedication of local Hispanic young women with academic
scholarships. The Queen and her Court will represent the Hispanic
community for the 1993-1994 year.
The Ways and Means Committee has recommended approval of the
request.
