As I related to you yesterday I am very interested in becoming a part of the Parks and Recreation Commission. In talking with John Krammer I learned that the only two vacant positions are the alternate positions that are appointed by the Mayor. I believe that I can be a very good asset to the Commission. I retired from the Federal Government in August 1989 by reason of physical disability. My last position with the government was in federal law enforcement. Upon my retirement I became involved in Little League Baseball in San Bernardino. During this period of time I have been a manager/coach, board member and President of a league. I am currently the District Administrator for California District 43 which encompasses San Bernardino, Highland, Mentone, Muscoy, Redlands and the San Bernardino Mountains. In all there is twelve (12) leagues in the District and approximately 5,000 children actively enrolled. In addition to being the District Administrator I also am a member of Team-14 at Western Regional Little League and I host the team from the State of Nevada when they come to the Regional Championships. Approximately eight months ago I was askd to be become a member of the newly formed San Bernardino Youth Sports Alliance and I am also a member of the executive committee for that organization. During the time that I was a board member and President of Wildwood Little League I developed an outstanding working relationship with the Parks and Recreation Deparment. This relationship has continued to grow during my current tenure as the District Administrator. 1 feel that with my commitment to all youth and my desire to see the City of San Bernardino become a better place for all that I would be a good addition to this Committee.
