08-19-86 - Resolution No. 86-334 was adopted, changing the name of Orange Show Road from the I-215
Freeway to the Southwest City limit line to Auto Plaza Drive.
01-11-99 - Development Services Department was authorized and directed to proceed with the street name
change from "Auto Plaza Drive" to "Auto Center Drive".
Recommended Motion:
1) That the Public Hearing relative to the street name change of "Auto Plaza Drive" to "Auto Center Drive"
be closed;
AND
2) Adopt the Resolution.

SUBJECT:
Public Hearing February 15, 1999, 10:00 a.m. and Resolution Authorization— Street Name Change — "Auto
Plaza Drive" to "Auto Center Drive"
BACKGROUND:
The former San Bernardino Auto Plaza Association has changed its name to Inland Empire Auto Center and
requests that said Auto Plaza Drive be changed to Auto Center Drive to correspond with the change.
Ronald Skipper, attorney for the Inland Empire Auto Center, has filed an application for the street name change,
along with a check to cover the administration proceedings.
Auto Plaza Drive is the major arterial into the Auto Center; the businesses on this street front on the side streets
and therefore would require no address change. Since no addresses front on Auto Plaza Drive, there would be
no adverse impact as result of the name changes.
A portion of this section of Auto Plaza Drive is within the City of Colton. Colton has been advised of this
proposed street name change.
Caltrans will need to revise their freeway directional signing to indicate Orange Show Road to the east and Auto
Center Drive to the west. The applicant will be responsible for all expenses for changing the freeway signing.
On 01/12/99 City Departments were notified of the proposed street name change and given an opportunity to
comment on the proposal. No responses were received.
No objections were received from adjacent property owners or occupants.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The applicant has paid a $500.00 non-refundable processing fee for the street name change and will pay the cost
of new street signs.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the street name change for "Auto Plaza Drive" to "Auto Center Drive" be approved.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO CHANGING THE
3 NAME OF AUTO PLAZA DRIVE TO AUTO CENTER DRIVE, WITHIN THE
4 CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY.
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
6 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
7 SECTION 1. That the name of Auto Plaza Drive, be and the same is hereby changed
8
to read Auto Center Drive, effective immediately.

10 SECTION 2. The City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino shall cause a certified copy
11 of this Resolution to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San
12 Bernardino.
