DATE: February 3, 1999 RE: Resolution of the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino, California, reciting the fact of the Special Municipal Election held in the Third Ward on the 2"" day of February, 1999, declaring the results thereof and setting forth such other matters as are provided by law. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Elections Code Division 15, Chapter 6 (Official Canvass), requires that a certified statement of the results of an election must be submitted to the governing body within 28 days of an election. The County Registrar of Voters conducted the City's Special Election in the Third Ward of the City of San Bernardino on February 2, 1999. The Registrar of Voters will issue the certified statement of results on February 10, 1999. San Bernardino City Charter, Section 11,and San Bernardino Municipal Code Section 2.56.130B. provide that at the next regular or adjourned regular Council meeting following the completion of the canvass,the Mayor and Common Council shall declare the results of the election as official. Adoption of this Resolution serves to declare the election results as official. RECOMMENDED MOTION: Adopt Resolution. Rac�rk,C.M.C. Clark, CMC, City Clerk SUBJECT: Polling Place Locations - Third Ward - February 2, 1999 COPIES: The Honorable James Penman, City Attorney; Fred Wilson, City Administrator; Linda Hartzel, Deputy City Clerk; Sandra Medina, Administrative Operations Supervisor ----------------------------------------------------------------- Agenda item 2 on the February 15, 1999 agenda is a Resolution declaring the results of the Special Election held in the Third Ward on February 2, 1999 . Accompanying the Resolution is a Certificate of Registrar of Voters along with the Statement of All Votes Cast. The Statement of Votes Cast provides the polling place number and corresponding precinct numbers; however, it does not give you the physical location for each polling place. Since you may be interested in knowing where each polling place was located, listed below are the locations of the eight (8) polling places : 001 : Ruben Campos Community Center, 1717 W. Fifth Street 002 : Fire Station #10, 502 South Arrowhead Avenue 003 : Rancho Meridian Mobile Home Park, 2686 W. Mill Street 004 : J. P. Kelley School, 380 S. Meridian Avenue 005 : Lytle Creek Mobile Estates, 1177 W. Congress Street 006 : Glen Aire Mobile Estates, 222 S. Rancho Avenue 007 : Nunley Residence, 2663 S.
