Description) Finance: Council Notes: Agenda Item No. a f� CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Subject: Appeal Hearing of Agreement For Tow Services termination, Danny's Towing, be continued to June 5, 2000. Background: On March 15, 2000 Mayor Valles terminated Danny's Towing from the City's tow rotation due to major violations of the City's Agreement for Tow Services. The violations included falsifying official documents, which resulted in felony criminal charges being filed by the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office. The criminal case is presently proceeding through the court system and it is unknown when the case will be adjudicated. Danny's Towing submitted a written notice of appeal to the City Clerk on March 14, 2000. Municipal Code 2.64.060 requires the City Clerk to promptly schedule the appeal on the Common Council agenda. Municipal Code 2.64.080 allows the Common Council to continue the appeal. Danny's Towing has agreed to continue the appeal of the termination of the Agreement For Tow Services until June 5, 2000. Financial Impact: None Recommendation: Appeal hearing of Danny's Towing to be reinstated to the Police Department Tow List be continued to June 5, 2000.
