Finance: Council Notes: Agenda Item No. 11#a D0-6 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Subject: Resolution awarding contract to Trautwein Construction for Sewer Improvements on Hardt, Gould, and Davidson Streets from Richardson Street to Mt. View Avenue per Plan No. 10007. Background: The area from Richardson Street to Mt. View Avenue and the I-10 Freeway to Victoria Avenue was annexed from the county of San Bernardino to the city in September 1990. The residents in this vicinity are currently on aging septic systems. This new sewer system will make available service to this area for new development and provide the opportunity for existing home owners to access a public sewer system should their existing septic system fail. Plans and specifications for this project are complete and it is ready to be awarded. The estimated project costs are as follows: Construction Cost $185,250 Contingencies $ 27,788 Design, Inspection and Contract Administration $ 18,562 Total $231,600 This project was advertised locally; the following companies responded. I RESOLUTION V7 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO A«ARDING A CONTRACT TO TRAUTWEIN CONSTRUCTION 3 FOR SEWER IMPROVEMENTS ON HARDT STREET, GOULD STREET, AND 4 DAVIDSON STREET FROM RICHARDSON STREET TO MT. VIEW AVENUE, PER PLAN NO. 10007. 5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE 6 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION 1. Trautwein Construction is the lowest responsible bidder for Sewer 8 Improvements on Hardt Street, Gould Street, and Davidson Street from Richardson Street to 9 10 Mt. View Avenue. A contract is awarded accordingly to said bidder in a total amount of 11 $185,250 but such award shall be effective only upon being fully executed by both parties. 12 All other bids, therefore, are hereby rejected. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed 13 to execute said contract on behalf of the City; a copy of the contract is on file in the office of 14 15 the City Clerk and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length. 16 SECTION 2. This contract and any amendment or modifications thereto shall not take 17 effect or become operative until fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall be 18 obligated hereunder until the time of such full execution. No oral agreements, amendments, 19 modifications or waivers are intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or 20 21 course of conduct of any party. 22 SECTION 3.
