Similar action taken after each Municipal Election. Last action taken as follows:

Resolution No. 2000-67 was adopted reciting the fact of the General
Municipal Election in the Seventh Ward on the y'h day of March 2000,
declaring the results thereof and setting forth such other matters as are
provided by law.

Resolution of the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino, California, reciting the facts of the Special Municipal
Election held on the 7" day of November 2000, declaring the results
thereof and setting forth such other matters as are provided by law.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Elections Code Division 15, Chapter 6 (Official Canvass), requires that a certified
statement of the results of an election must be submitted to the governing body within
28 days of an election. The County Registrar of Voters conducted the City's Special
Municipal Election on November 7,2000. The Registrar of Voters will issue the
certified statement of results no later than December 4, 2000.
San Bernardino City Charter, Section 11, and San Bernardino Municipal Code Section
2.56.130B. provide that at the next regular or adjourned regular Council meeting
following the completion of the canvass, the Mayor and Common Council shall declare
the results of the election as official. Adoption of this resolution serves to declare the
election results as official.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:

RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE
FACTS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON THE
7'h DAY OF NOVEMBER 2000, DECLARING THE RESULTS
THEREOF AND SETTING FORTH SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS
ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election was held and conducted
in the City of San Bernardino on the 7th day of November, 2000; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given
in the time, form and manner as provided by law; voting precincts were
properly established; election officers were appointed and in all respects
said election was held and the returns made and declared in the time, form,
and manner as required by the provisions of the Charter of the City of San
Bernardino and the Elections Code of the State of California for the
holding of public elections in the City of San Bernardino; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution Nos. 2000-231, 2000-232 and
2000-233, adopted on August 4, 2000, the Registrar of Voters of the
County of San Bernardino canvassed the returns of said election and has
certified the results to this City Council and said results are received,
attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit A;

RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE
FACTS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON THE
7th DAY OF NOVEMBER 2000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and
Common Council of the City of San Bernardino as follows:
Section I:
That there were seventy-seven (77) consolidated
precincts established for the purpose of holding said election.
Section 2:
That said Special Municipal Election was held to
allow voters to vote on Measure M, a proposed new City Charter.
Section 3:
That the total of all votes cast in said elections was
34. 968 including 8.078 absent voter ballots.
That the number of votes given at each precinct are listed on the
attached Exhibit A.
Section 4:
That the City Clerk shall enter on the records of the
City Council of said City a statement of the results of the Special
Municipal Election held on the 7'h day of November, 2000.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council ofthe City of San Bernardino
