APPROVING RULES AND jREGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS . . ."; AND :INCREASING THE SERVICE CHARGE IF WATER SERVICE IS DISCONNECTED lOR DEACTIVATED WITH A LOCK OR LOCKING DEVICE AND THE LOCK AND/OR ILOCKING DEVICE HAVE BEEN DAMAGED. 3 4 5 THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO 6 DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION 1. " San Bernardino Municipal Water Department 300 "0" Street San Bernardino, California TURNING ON AND OFF WATER SUPPLY RULE AND REGULATION NO. 10 Upon the request of the consumer, water supply will be turned on or off without charge for the purpose of establishing a new account or closing an existing one. If emergency repairs to the internal plumbing system of a residence are necessary, the Board will deactivate the water supply without charge. Upon notification by the consumer that repairs are completed, the Board shall reactivate water supply, without charge. If water service is disconnected due to nonpayment of water bills, a charge of $10.00 plus outstanding bills, must be paid before water service can be re-estab 1 i shed. If water service is discontinued or deactivated and the Board finds it necessary to lock the meter off and the lock and/or locking device are damaged a charge of $25.00, plus outstanding bills, must be paid before water service can be reinstated. In the event there is illegal use of water due to the installation of a straight pipe; or any other method of illegally connecting to the water system, a charge of $50.00, plus outstanding bills, must be paid before water service can be re-establ ished. In addition to charges stated above, charges for damage of Department facilities such as padlocks, turn-on valves, meters, etc., must be paid prior to re-establ ishing water service. ~ Approved: .J9/d-.
