Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
On August 25,2011, the Personnel Committee recommended this item to be forwarded to the Mayor and
Common Council for adoption.
Recommended Motion:
1. Reclassify Mobile Home Park Inspector position, Range 1490, $5113 - $6215/month, to Building
Inspector II position, Range 1460, $4402 - $5351/month.
2. Delete Mobile Home Park Inspector position, Range 1490, $5113 - $6215/month.
3. Authorize the Finance Director to incorporate the changes into the FY 2011-12 budge!.

SUBJECT:
Position Reclassification in the Connnunity Development Department.
BACKGROUND:
The single-class position of Mobile Home Park Inspector within the Connnunity Development
Department has been underfilled by a Building Inspector II since early 2009. The duties of
inspecting mobile home parks are consistent with those of a Building Inspector II and allows the
department greater flexibility in assigning staff to the task; therefore, the department has
requested the reclassification of this position.
It is the reconnnendation of the Human Resources Department to reclassify the position of
Mobile Home Park Inspector to Building Inspector II.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Reclassification of Mobile Home Park Inspector, Range 1490, $5113 - $6215/month, to Building
Inspector II position, Range 1460, $4402 - $5351/month:

RECOMMENDATION:
1. Reclassify Mobile Home Park Inspector position, Range 1490, $5113 - $62 I 5/month, to
Building Inspector II position, Range 1460, $4402 - $5351/month.
2. Delete Mobile Home Park Inspector position, Range 1490, $5113 - $62 I 5/month.
3. Authorize the Finance Director to incorporate the changes into the FY 2011-12 budget.
4. Authorize the Human Resources Director to update Resolution Nos. 97-244 and 2011-218 to
reflect this action.
