Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
On October 6, 2008, the Mayor and Common Council approved the establishment of
salaries for Fire Department Ranges P-1, P-2, P-3 and P-4, effective August 1,2008.
Recommended Motion:
1. Approve the revised P-3 (Fire Engineer) salary, effective August 1, 2008.
2. Authorize the Human Resources Department to amend Resolution No. 6429 to reflect the
above action.

Subiect:
Revise salary for Fire Department Range P-3 (Fire Engineer), effective August 1,2008
Backl!round:
On October 6, 2008, the Mayor and Common Council approved the establishment of salaries for
Fire Department Ranges P-I, P-2, P-3 and P-4, effective August 1,2008. Shortly thereafter, it
was discovered that the salary range for P-3 (Fire Engineer), Steps 3 and 4, were not accurately
reported.
Below is the revised salary range for the P-3/Engineer position:

This action is necessary to amend Resolution No. 6429. The requested revision does not impact
any current employee.
Financial Impact:
There will be no additional cost to update the salary schedule.
Recommendation:
1. Approve the revised P-3 (Fire Engineer) salary, effective August 1, 2008.
2. Authorize the Human Resources Department to amend Resolution No. 6429 to reflect the
above action.
