OF SAN BERNARDI"-O - REQUI:-T FOR COUNCIL AC-: ~N STAFF REPORT The Animal Control Department has untilized the services of Mr. Bill Freeman to apprehend large and medium livestock for the past eight years, as the department does not own a stock trailer. He readily responds to our request for service at any hour. Since his fees were raised to $35.00 per call, we are requesting our apprehension fees be increased to $50.00 to cover his cost to us and our service by the Animal Control Officer. The Animal Control Officer must stand-by with the livestock until Mr. Freeman arrives and accompany him to the shelter. During this time, the Officer's other calls for service have to be held in abeyance until the livestock is impounded. 75-0264 '- - .......... ~ - 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 86-280 TO INCREASE THE FEE FOR THE MAINTENANCE, FEEDING 3 AND CARE OF APPREHENDED LIVESTOCK. 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 SECTION 1. Resolution No. 86-280 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2. Fee Schedule. In order to recover anticipated expenditures for maintenance, feeding and care of apprehended livestock, the following fee schedule is established: LARGE LIVESTOCK Over 500 1bs. (Horses, Mules, Donkeys, Cattle) APPREHENSION FEE $ 50.00 DAILY BOARD & CARE $ 12.50 MEDIUM LIVESTOCK 25 to 500 1bs. (Goats, Sheep, Pigs) $ 50.00 $ 10.00 $ 5.00 SMALL LIVESTOCK 25 1bs or less (Rodents, Rabbits, Chickens, Geese). The purpose of the hearing is to consider a fee increase for the apprehension of livestock from $25.00 to $50.00.
