June, 1988 Allocation of supplemental funds in the amount of $45,000 approved in 1988-89 Budget. X 5' "" :a: Agenda Item No. '^ - Council Notes: cn ;' OF SAN BERNARDI. ~D - REQUE~ r FOR COUNCIL AC'\ .DN STAFF REPORT Plans and specifications have been prepared by the Engi- neering Division for the construction of improvements in Hillcrest Park, located on the north side of Hill Drive, between Mayfield Avenue and Acacia Avenue, and the project is ready to be advertised for bids. This park was originally improved as a neighborhood recreation facility. However, the improvements were destroyed when the park was used as a staging area during the Panorama Fire. Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost: Construction Contract -- Basic Bid Engineering & Inspection (W.O. 1498) Sub-Total Contingencies (15%)i Tota 1 $ 98,499 5,000 $103,499 15,501 $119,000 Four additive alternates are included in the contract documents for picnic tables, benches, trash containers and drinking fountains. These alternates will be included in the contract if sufficient funds are available. At their meeting of 6-23-88, the Environmental Review Committee made a finding that this project is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act. Funds have been allocated from the Park Extension Fund, under Account No. 243-363-57519, in an amount of $95,000.00 for this work. It is recommended that the necessary supplemental funds be provided after the bids are opened and the exact contract pri ce is known.
